4 Jul – "Pitch Perfect" star Anna Kendrick is reportedly going nuts for a Marvel role, and it is none other than the 'rodent-whisperer', Squirrel Girl. When asked recently if she was interested in playing any superhero roles, Kendrick told Net-A-Porter, "My brother sent me a Squirrel Girl comic because he thinks I should [play her]." "I don't know what Squirrel Girl does other than be half squirrel, but I could be half squirrel!" Squirrel Girl is one of the Great Lakes Avengers. The Marvel character was first introduced in the comics in 1992. She had never been adapted to the big screen, though "Guardians of the Galaxy" director James Gunn did previously voice out his interest in making a movie on her. Since Great Lakes Avengers will reportedly appear in next year's "Spider-Man: Homecoming", as revealed by co-director Joe Russo, if Squirrel Girl were to make her silver screen debut, the upcoming movie could be her platform. Whether or not Kendrick will really start speaking Squirrelese soon, she can still be seen on the big screen in upcoming movies such as "The Accountant" and "Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates" as well as lend her voice to Princess Poppy in "Trolls". By the way, here's how Kendrick might look like as Squirrel Girl, as illustrated by digital artist Kode Abdo a.k.a. Bosslogic.
