6 Apr – Anthony Chen-produced "Distance" has been chosen to be part of the lineup for the 2016 Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival. The movie, starring Taiwanese actor Chen Bo-lin and helmed by directors Tan Shijie (Singapore), Sivaroj Kongsakul (Thailand) and Xin Yukun (China), is the only Singaporean feature film to be screened at the festival's International Showcase section. "Distance" is set to play on 26 April at Downtown Independent, Los Angeles. Also showing on the same day, under the Shorts Programs section, are three local short films, "Sophie", "For Ophelia" and Sanif Olek's "In the Still of the Night" ("Bila Larut Malam"), whereas comedy-drama short "Move Out Notice" will play a day before on 25 April. The 32nd Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival takes place from 21 until 28 April 2016 at various locations across Los Angeles, including the Aratani Theatre at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center, Directors Guild of America, CGV Cinemas and more. In "Distance", Bo-lin plays three different characters in three different stories. The first story tells of a manager who is intrigued by an older colleague during a business trip. In the second story, a young father heads to a foreign country after receiving a letter. In the third story, a professor sets a student`s heart fluttering. Though it premiered as the opening film at last year's Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, "Distance" is only set to open in local cinemas on 2 June 2016.
