12 Aug – As fans already know, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are returning to the big screen as buddy cops Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett. Bad news, a recent change in Sony Pictures' line-up has pushed the release date for the third instalment of the "Bad Boys" franchise from its original June 2017 slot, according to EW, to January 2018. Good news, the third movie has been officially assigned a new name and it certifies the narcotic Miami detectives as "Bad Boys For Life". The title for the new movie definitely fits the bill, as Smith's Lowrey said to his partner in "Bad Boys II", "We ride together, we die together. Bad boys for life." With both Smith (who can currently be seen as Deadshot in "Suicide Squad") and Lawrence returning to star, the upcoming movie will not be any less explosive even though Michael Bay will not be returning to direct. Joe Carnahan ("The A Team") will be taking over as director while Jerry Bruckheimer will be back to produce. News of a "Bad Boys" comeback first stirred in 2014 when Lawrence revealed on television talk show "Conan" that a third movie was in the making. Though at the time it was not yet confirmed whether Smith would be rejoining the team. The comedic duo first teamed up in 1995's "Bad Boys", which made USD141.4 million against its USD19 million budget. A sequel, "Bad Boys II", followed in 2003, making USD273.3 million on a bigger budget of USD130 million. Fans had expected another movie to be made but it took more than a decade before that dream was finally realised. There was more than one reason to rejoice though, because it was announced that not only one, but two new movies will be released. "Bad Boys For Life" was originally slated for release in North America on 17 February 2017 before being moved to 2 June the same year, and now finally shifted to 12 January 2018. "Bad Boys 4", still untitled, is currently scheduled for release in North America on 3 July 2019.
