29 Jun – English actor Daniel Craig is in early negotiations to star opposite Academy Award-winning actress Halle Berry in an upcoming independent drama, "Kings". Craig is eyeing the role of a loner living in South Central Los Angeles, who falls for Berry's character, according to Variety. Craig's character will help Berry's protect her children from the violence of the 1992 Los Angeles riots, which erupted several hours after a suburban Simi Valley jury acquitted four Los Angeles Police officers of the beating of Rodney King in 1991. The L.A. riot not only caused more than USD1 billion of property damage but also 55 deaths. The movie is set to be directed by Deniz Gamze Erguven ("Mustang"), who will be directing from her own script. This will mark the Turkish-French director's English feature debut. Craig was last seen onscreen as James Bond in 2015's "Spectre" while Berry last appeared as Storm in 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Next year, Craig will be seen in "Logan Lucky" and Berry will portray Ginger in "Kingsman: The Golden Circle". (Photo source: Design Trend | Pop Sugar)
