14 Jun – Before catching the highly-anticipated "Independence Day: Resurgence" in cinemas soon, be sure to first watch the original 1996 "Independence Day". Golden Village will be holding an "Independence Day" movie marathon, where fans will be able to watch both the Will Smith-starrer and its upcoming Liam Hemsworth-starring sequel back-to-back. The flashback marathon will take place on Wednesday, 22 June, at GV Jurong Point, GV Yishun and GV Tampines. It will kick off at 9pm with the screening of the extended version of "Independence Day", followed by the sequel's screening at 12.10am. Tickets are priced at SGD23 each for GV Movie Club Member and SGD26 each for the public. The prices are inclusive of a free "Independence Day" pin and unlimited popcorn and drinks.
For those looking for a more comfortable movie marathon experience, head on over to Golden Village Gold Class Katong. The same movie marathon will be held there, except this will begin at 8.50pm and the sequel is to follow at exactly midnight. Tickets for this are priced at SGDS80 each for GV Movie Club Member and SGD85 each for the public. Tickets include a free "Independence Day" Pin, one serving of Gold Wings and one bottle of Paulaner Bräuhaus Helles Lager. "Independence Day: Resurgence" opens in cinemas nationwide this 23 June.
