25 Feb – "Fantastic Four" and "Creed" actor Michael B. Jordan will be playing Mr. Thomas Crown in the second remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair." Jordan will reteam with MGM for this project after working together for "Creed", which hit a box office of USD 172 million worldwide. He played Adonis Creed, the son of the late Apollo Creed. The remake is still early in its developmental stages and does not have a writer, producer, or director to lead the team according to The Hollywood Reporter. The original "Thomas Crown Affair" in 1968 starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway directed by Norman Jewison, tells the story of a mastermind who robbed the Boston bank of US$2.66 million without meeting any of the four thieves. Dunaway played the insurance investigator who realized that Crown had orchestrated the heist. 31 years later, John McTiernan directed the first remake that starred Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. The film was a solid hit, grossing US$124 million worldwide. The young and rising star, Jordan, first came to Hollywood's attention when he played a drug dealer in "The Wire" and in "Fruitvale Station". With this upcoming role, 29-year-old Jordan will be the youngest actor to play Crown. McQueen was 38 and Brosnan was 45 when they tackled the role.
