New Sherlock Holmes movie gets comedic twist

Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly last appeared together in 2008's "Step Brothers".

18 Aug – If at any moment while watching any adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's "Sherlock Holmes", you thought that what it needed was more comedy, then your wish is about to come true.

Funny duo Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are partnering up again to star in "Holmes & Watson", the upcoming Sony Pictures' PG13 comedy adaptation of the famous sleuthing tale, according to Deadline.

Ferrell will play private detective Holmes while Reilly will be his friend and assistant, Dr. Watson.

The movie will be directed by screenwriter Etan Cohen, who made his directorial debut with 2015's Will Ferrell-starrer, "Get Hard".

This will be the first time for Ferrell and Reilly to share the big screen again since 2008's "Step Brothers". The duo has proven their comedic chemistry not only in the aforementioned movie but also in 2006's "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby".

Ferrell can be seen next in "Daddy's Home 2" and also heard voicing President "Lord" Business in "The Lego Movie Sequel", while Reilly will appear next in "Kong: Skull Island" and return to voice the main character of "Wreck-It Ralph 2".
