"Peter Rabbit" announces main cast

Peter Rabbit will be up for more mischief in movie adaptation.

6 Aug – "Peter Rabbit", the live-action/animation movie from Sony, has found its main cast in the form of "The Late Late Show" host, James Corden.

Corden has hopped on board to voice the titular character, according to Variety, and the English actor will most probably be joined by Australian actress, Rose Byrne.

Byrne has yet to confirm her participation in the movie as she is still in negotiations with the studio. However, if she were to sign on, she would be starring in a live-action role instead of voicing an animated character.

No stranger to voice roles, Corden has previously voiced characters in "Planet 51", "Animals United", "Norm of the North" and the upcoming 2016 movie, "Trolls".

Byrne is currently part of the voice cast for 2018's "Larrikins".

News of a "Peter Rabbit" movie adaptation, which will be a mix of live-action and CGI animation, was first announced last year. The titular anthropomorphic rabbit was introduced by English author Beatrix Potter in various children's stories in 1902 and it has since received various adaptations and merchandising.

"Peter Rabbit" is set to hop onto the big screen in North America on 23 March 2018.
