4 Jul – Yet to be titled, the second instalment of the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" franchise has already begun principal photography today in London.
Filming for the David Yates-directed movie takes place at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden, according to Deadline. It is one month ahead of schedule, probably because by now the production has managed to fill up the cast with returning as well as new members.
We'll reveal the updated cast a little below, first let's take a look at the newly-revealed plot of the upcoming sequel.
The movie will centre on the story of Albus Dumbledore trying to defeat Grindelwald, who is still on a mission to elevate wizards above all non-magical beings. Dumbledore will, however, require the help of his former student, Newt Scamander.
Scamander is, of course, played by Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne. His gang from the first movie will reconvene, meaning we will get to see Katherine Waterston returning as Auror Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, and Dan Fogler as the No-Maj, Jacob Kowalski.
Oscar nominees Jude Law and Johnny Depp are portraying Dumbledore and Grindelwald, respectively.
Newt Scamander will regroup with his friends in the sequel. |
Five more new names were recently added to the roster of actors. They are Claudia Kim ("The Dark Tower", "Avengers: Age Of Ultron", "Marco Polo"), Ingvar Sigurdsson ("The Oath"), Ólafur Darri Ólafsson ("The Missing"), William Nadylam and Kevin Guthrie.
The newcomers will play the following characters: a young woman who is a featured attraction at a wizarding circus (Kim), bounty hunter Grimmson (Sigurdsson), Skender who runs the wizarding circus (Ólafsson), wizard Yusuf Kama (Nadylam) and MACUSA (Magical Congress of the USA) boss, Abernathy (Guthrie).
Also part of the new movie are Ezra Miller reprising his role as Credence, Zoë Kravitz as Leta Lestrange, who was seen briefly in a moving photo as a woman from Newt's past in the first movie, and Callum Turner playing the role of Newt's older brother, war hero and Auror Theseus Scamander.
Expect to see an even more fantastical movie as the sequel will take audiences on a journey from New York to London and Paris.
The "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" sequel is slated to enchant audiences once again in November 2018.
