16 Mar – The epic action adventure series of Marvel's spacefaring superhero team is set to return in "Guardians of the Galaxy 3".

The director of the previous films, James Gunn, had stated in an interview with Complex News that the third film in the series is definitely part of Marvel's plans.

Gunn stated, "I'm trying to figure out what I want to do really, that's all it is. I got to figure out where I want to be, what I want to spend the next three years of my life doing. You know, I'm going to make another big movie; is it "The Guardians" or something else? I'm just going to figure it out over the next couple of weeks."

However, at this point of time James Gunn has not confirmed whether he might be returning to direct the third "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie.

The first film was a box office success for Marvel Studios, grossing USD773.3 million with their ever expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe films that garnered worldwide success and positive reviews from critics and fans alike.

The second film has also reportedly scored really well with audience test screenings.

The third "Guardians of the Galaxy" film will mark the start of Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Phase 3 began with "Captain America: Civil War" last year.
