Gwyneth Paltrow is taking a break from acting

Gwyneth Paltrow played Pepper Potts in the "Iron Man" movies.

17 Jun – With so much on her plate, between motherhood and her job as a CEO, Gwyneth Paltrow finds that she may have to take a break from her acting career.

Paltrow is the founder and CEO of the lifestyle company and website, Goop and is the mother of two children, 13-year-old Apple and 11-year-old Moses.

Yesterday, the "Iron Man" actress admitted on the "Today" show that she was putting her acting career on hold so she can focus more on Goop.

"I'm still going to do a little bit here and there, but this really requires almost all of my time," she said. "I'm in the office all day, every day. I have a pretty big team – we're almost 85 people – so I kind of need to be at work."

Paltrow is undoubtedly a very talented actress, her multiple awards attests that. Yet in recent years she has been making fewer appearances on the big screen, with her last movie role being in 2015's "Mortdecai", after she found her passion in Goop.

"It's just one of those things," she admitted. "I was so lucky: I had an incredible acting career, but I had this deep passion to produce content and make great products and curate things. It sort of evolved slowly and had a long gestational period and now it's like, a real business."

Paltrow has been laser-focused on growing the brand. Goop even recently launched a new wellness line and their first-ever wellness summit, "In Goop Health".

Still, she spends all the spare time she can get with her children, who she raises alongside their father and her ex, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

It is admirable how the actress has prioritised her passion and her family over her long-time career, as most modern women have a hard time balancing such things in their lives.

But that doesn't mean that we wouldn't welcome any on-screen appearances she might make in the future.
