Han Solo movie to span seven years

24 Mar – Info has been scarce for the upcoming Han Solo-focused "Star Wars" spinoff, so scarce that even its title is still a vague line describing its existence as part of the space opera saga.

However, more details of the movie are coming to light, thanks to the likes of Disney CEO Bob Iger and cast member Woody Harrelson.

The movie's storyline will span seven years, following Han Solo from age 18 until 24, Iger has revealed.

Also, Han Solo might not be called Han Solo in his own movie, as Variety quoted Iger as saying, "You'll also discover how he got his name."

While fans have known for a while that the movie will chronicle how the young Han (or whatever his name might be) became the smuggler that Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first met in the cantina at Mos Eisley, now Iger has added on some new info.

It will also tell of how young Han Solo first met Chewbacca and how he gets to own the Millennium Falcon.

Meanwhile, Woody Harrelson, who is confirmed to play the titular character's mentor, recently shared with Jimmy Fallon on the latter's talk show that he plays "a guy named Beckett who's kind of a criminal and mentor to Han."

No further info on the character, as even the actor previously thought he was to play one named Garris Shrike, whose debut was in the first book in The Han Solo Trilogy by A. C. Crispin, "The Paradise Snare".

The Untitled Han Solo "Star Wars" spinoff is slated for release in cinemas on 25 May 2018.
