Jared Leto displeased with DiCaprio playing Joker

Jared Leto is displeased with the idea of there being two Jokers.

4 Sep – It's a tale of two Jokers, and one of them is not cackling his mad laugh about it.

Having portrayed the Clown Prince of Crime in David Ayer's "Suicide Squad", Jared Leto is reportedly unhappy with the notion of having another actor playing the role – even if it's the Academy Award-winning Leonardo DiCaprio.

The Hollywood Reporter recently revealed that the resident Joker was caught off guard when news broke about the studio's plan on casting another actor for the role in the origin movie.

It is also said that his displeasure has been made known to his CAA agents, and rival agency WME is now cashing in on the concern to court him.

The in-demand Leonardo DiCaprio is recently rumoured to be up as Joker with Warner Bros. expressing its interest in bringing him on board to play the lead in the standalone movie detailing Joker's origin, under the direction of "The Hangover" helmer Todd Phillips.

Well known for his tendency to stay away from franchises, the studio is hoping that DiCaprio's working relationship with Martin Scorsese (who is now in talks to produce the Joker origin movie) could break the precedent.

It should be noted that as of now, no offer has been made to the "The Revenant" actor and that the deal with Scorsese has yet to be finalised as well.

It remains to be seen whether the studio will really court DiCaprio for the role seeing that it previously stated its plan to cast a young actor to play the part.

With the new casting for the Batman's nemesis, the movie is to be placed under a yet-to-be-named DC Comics' banner, allowing unique storylines to be created without bothering about the current cinematic universe.
