23 Oct – Fans of the "Millennium" novel series can finally see Camilla Salander, the evil twin sister of Lisbeth Salander, making her big screen debut in the upcoming "The Girl in the Spider's Web". Despite having been mentioned numerous times throughout the series, Camilla has never once appeared beyond its printed pages, not even making a cameo in the Swedish movie franchise that adapted the first three "Millennium" books.
The first in its best-selling series to be produced into an English-language movie, "The Girl in the Spider's Web" is also the series' first to not be authored by its creator Stieg Larsson following his death in 2004. Published in 2015 with new writer David Lagercrantz, the book is also one where fans are finally brought to light on the whereabouts of Camilla after her last meeting with Lisbeth on their 17th birthday. The upcoming movie will have "Don't Breathe" helmer Fede Alvarez on board to direct with a screenplay by Steven Knight, Jay Basu and Alvarez himself. Set to begin production in January in Berlin and Stockholm, "The Girl in the Spider's Web" is slated to open in North America on 19 October 2018.
