16 May – Singapore-based company mm2 Entertainment has entered a three-year, five-film, multi-million dollar co-production agreement with Turner Asia Pacific of Turner Broadcasting system Asia Pacific. mm2 Asia is one of the region's top movie production companies while Tuner is a global media corporation. This agreement marks the first time Turner ventures into film production in South East Asia. Chang Long Jong, the CEO of mm2 Asia, said in a press statement: "We are very happy and proud to embark on this journey with Turner. "We look forward to co-producing an exciting slate of films through this landmark collaboration. As we build on our strong base in the Asia market through our movie and media investments, we will continue to forge more such win-win relationships in the future." The first film to be released under the collaboration is a biopic about singer and song-writer Dick Lee, titled "Wonder Boy". The Sam Willows' Benjamin Kheng will star as Dick Lee while Lee and Daniel Yam will direct. The film is slated to be released this year on 3 August. Other films to be released under this collaboration include two family films and two films by the popular Singaporean actor, host and director, Jack Neo.
