27 Oct – Following feuds among the cast and a one year delay for the franchise's latest instalment, it seems that fans of "Fast and Furious" are due for a little pick-me-up, and star Vin Diesel is more than happy to be one who provides that. During the actor's recent Facebook Live, Diesel hinted that director Justin Lin would be back on board for the franchise's next two instalments. Described as the series' "forefather" and "the one responsible for resurrecting this beautiful saga", the voice actor of Groot highlighted Lin's return as heeding to the fans' demands. "The crowd goes wild," Diesel said after revealing Lin's return.
The good news doesn't stop there with actress Jordana Brewster, who plays his onscreen sister Mia Toretto, also on board for the reunion party. "You're about to see [Brewster] in the upcoming chapters of the Fast universe." One of the original "Fast" members, Mia is last seen in "Furious 7" after the death of Paul Walker led to his character, Brian O'Conner (Mia's husband), to go into retirement along with her. It will be interesting to see how the series decides to mark Brewster's return to the story. The franchise's upcoming releases will include the spinoff on Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, opening on 26 July 2019 in North America, and "Fast and Furious 9", slated to open on 10 April 2020.
