Oscar film "Call Me By Your Name" sequel is a go!


Academy award-winning "Call Me By Your Name" will get a sequel.

7 Mar – Academy award-winning "Call Me By Your Name" is revealed to be getting a sequel.

Director Luca Guadagnino revealed the details and plans in the making of the sequel after it won the Best Adapted Screenplay award at the recent 90th Academy Awards.

Guadagnino indicated that not only are they now focusing on the sequel, but there could be more movies in the pipeline to follow.

According to Movie Web, the story is already under development and it will take a place many years after the events of the first movie, with Oliver (Armie Hammer) and Elio (Timothee Chalamet) travelling the world together.


The novel writer for "Call Me By Your Name", Andre Aciman, will also be involved in the making of the story however, Oscar winner screenwriter James Ivory will not be returning to work on the sequel.

Both, Academy Awards Best Actor nominees Armie Hammer and Timothee Chalamet are expected to return as Oliver and Elio.

For now, it's just one sequel, but Guadagnino has hinted that the other movies would perhaps be something similar to Richard Linklater's "Before" trilogy, where we catch up with Oliver and Elio's story during the time gap between the first movie and its sequel.
