24 Apr – After eight movies since 2001, the "Fast And Furious" franchise is shifting gears from the big screen to an animated series exclusively for Netflix. DreamWorks Animation Television is collaborating with the online streaming platform giant to develop an animated "Fast And Furious" series as part of their ongoing multi-year deal.
The animated movie is said to revolve around Dominic Toretto's younger cousin, Tony, as he follows his footsteps when he is recruited by a covert government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a cover for an illegal crime organisation. However the Netflix series does not mean the end of the main "Fast And Furious" projects, as the spin-off movie "Hobbs And Shaw" is still moving forward with a 26 July 2019 release date and also the ninth and tenth movies will be filmed back to back with Justin Lin rumoured to direct.
