Original "Harry Potter" cast members lend voices to mobile game

Michael Gambon, a.k.a. Professor Dumbledore, is among the cast members who are
lending their voices to "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery".

7 Apr – The upcoming "Harry Potter" mobile video game, "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery", will feature some characters from the movie voiced by the original cast members.

Maggie Smith, Michael Gambon, Warwick Davis, Sally Mortemore, Gemma Jones and Zoe Wanamaker will all lend their voices to the video game, reprising their roles from the movie, according to a press release by developer Jam City.

"Our goal with "Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery" is to make players really feel for the first time like they're attending Hogwarts," Jam City CEO Chris DeWolfe said.

"By including these iconic and incredibly talented actors in the game, we come one step closer to truly giving fans their own Hogwarts experience," he added.

Fans will also hear the familiar voice of Maggie Smith as Professor McGonagall.

Jam City partners up with Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment to develop a video game that allows players to create a personalised avatar and enrol in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to experience life as a student there.

The video game will take place before the events of the movie adaptation, so players will not be able to meet the three main characters – Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley – but they will meet familiar professors who will teach players to progress further into the game.

"Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery" will be available for free with in-app purchases for all Android and iOS devices come 25 April this year.
