9 Apr – Indonesian movie star Iko Uwais is switching it up, bringing his fighting skills to a more family-friendly comedy instead of his usual action flicks. Uwais, who is known for his breakout role in 2012's "The Raid", will star in a comedy movie directed by Michael Dowse called "Stuber", as reported by Deadline. This move to comedy will be his first time in the genre. The 35-year-old will be starring alongside Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani, though his own role in the movie has yet to be revealed. "Stuber" follows Bautista's character, who is a detective, commanding an Uber driver (Nanjiani) to assist him with his investigations over a night of total chaos. Uwais was last seen in 2017's "Beyond Skyline". This year he will be seen in three more movies including "The Night Comes for Us" and "Triple Threat". The Indonesian action star has just finished filming "Mile 22", where he will be appearing with big Hollywood names like Mark Wahlberg and John Malkovich, and is scheduled for a 20 July release across North American cinemas this year.
