10 Dec – Hollywood director Jon M. Chu, known for his box office film, "Crazy Rich Asians", is set to helm a movie revolving around the life of Filipino singer, Arnel Pineda. As reported on Rappler, Warner Bros is currently in negotiations to license the original Journey tunes, most written by Steve Perry and Neal Schon, at the same time acquiring rights to "Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey". According to Chu, the success of "Crazy Rich Asians" has inspired him to do more movies that represents new perspectives from around the world. "This story in particular has been on my mind since I first read about it years ago. A true fairy tale and triumph of the human spirit. An unlikely hero, an undeniable talent, the power of music and a worldwide stage (literally) has all the ingredients I love about movies," he said, adding that he has always been a fan of Journey.
