14 Mar – Grammy award-winning singer Madonna will be on directing duty once again as she is set to helm "Taking Flight", a biopic about Sierra Leonean ballerina Michaela DePrince. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios announced on their official website that the Queen of Pop will be adapting DePrince's memoir, "Taking Flight: From War Orphan to Star Ballerina", which she co-wrote with her foster mother, Elaine DePrince. "There is no director better suited to tell Michaela's journey with passion and sensitivity, and we cannot wait to bring this film to audiences all around the world," said President of MGM Motion Picture Group, Jonathan Glickman, in regards to Madonna taking on the directing role.
