Arnold Schwarzenegger stars in Stan Lee's animated superhero series

Arnold Schwarzenegger is going back to kindergarten in Stan Lee's animated series.

30 May – Arnold Schwarzenegger once had a conversation with the late Stan Lee about the actor's "ultimate Hollywood dream".

It went something like: Arnie would love a sequel to "Kindergarten Cop", in which he played a cop who had to go undercover as a kindergarten teacher, and Stan Lee agreed that the 1990 comedy was a fantastic movie.

"He kind of looked at me and says, 'I really enjoyed that movie. That was fantastic. I loved the way you played with those kids and your communication with the kids, the fun you had,'" the actor told The Hollywood Reporter.

When Lee later proposed doing an animated series similar to "Kindergarten Cop", Schwarzenegger agreed and it got the ball rolling on the Genius Brands, Lee's POW! Entertainment, and Schwarzenegger's Oak Productions project, created by Lee and written by "Deadpool" co-creator Fabian Nicieza.

Called "Superhero Kindergarten", Schwarzenegger's character is a gym teacher who used to fight crimes as Captain Courage but he had to sacrifice his superhero powers to defeat his nemesis Dr. Superior. Now he works as a kindergarten teacher to help train kids that have gained superpowers from an explosion of superpowered particles.

While that's already sounding exciting on its own, the cherry on top here is every episode of the series will feature an animated cameo of Stan Lee. Looks like his cameo legacy lives on even after his passing at age 95 last November.

There is no release date set yet for the animated series.

However, fans can still catch Arnold Schwarzenegger this year in "Terminator: Dark Fate" and "Viy 2: Journey to China", while Stan Lee is making his final cameo in the MCU in this July's "Spider-Man: Far From Home".
