28 Nov – Martial arts actor Donnie Yen has announced that "Ip Man 4" will be the last time he will don his costume as the legendary Wing Chun master.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at the Beijing press conference of the said movie recently, stated that he would like to move forward and do new things rather than do the same genre and play the same character over and over again.

"As an actor and filmmaker, I have made so many movies. Some were loved and some were not. Throughout this time, I have made several kung fu films that are similar to one another. As an actor, you must always go forward," he said.

Donnie said that while he is grateful for the opportunity to play the role that has shot him into stardom, the said film will be his last kung fu movie.

"I hope that it can be written as a valuable page in the history of Chinese cinema, and I will continue my journey as an actor," he said.

When asked if he is confident that the fourth film will do well in cinemas, he said, "Usually when you make this kind of film, it should not be more than two instalments because usually it will go downhill by the third one. But the first three "Ip Man" movies were loved by everyone. I believe that the fourth will not disappoint."
