31 Oct – Trick or treat! Today being Halloween, people tend to veer towards the darker side of things when it comes to the day's entertainment and in that spirit, we bring you the latest news on "Justice League Dark". The live-action movie is reportedly back on the table, according to Cosmic Book News (CBN) who picked up the tidbit from Twitter scooper DanielRPK, despite having been stuck in development hell for some time now. If the notion of a "Justice League Dark" movie sounds familiar to you, you could be thinking of the animated version that was given a non-theatrical release in 2017.
CBN had an inkling that "Justice League Dark" was never really left collecting dust in the dark, because when it learned at last July's Comic-Con that James Wan's "Swamp Thing" series was not renewed, it also learned that the title superhero will still make a big screen appearance. Of course, via the aforementioned movie. Justice League Dark, a superhero team made up of DC Universe's more supernatural members, first appeared in DC Comics' "Justice League Dark #1" in September 2011. The original Volume 1 line-up featured John Constantine, Madame Xanadu, Deadman, Shade, the Changing Man, and Zatanna, who was previously rumoured to appear in James Gunn's "The Suicide Squad" but it is possible that she is set to star in "Justice League Dark" instead. Swamp Thing appeared later in the series and continued to be part of the team up until Volume 2, which includes Wonder Woman as the leader. While Swamp Thing has yet to make a live-action movie appearance in recent years, Wonder Woman has, as seen in 2017's "Justice League" and her eponymous 2017 solo vehicle. Gal Gadot will be seen reprising the superhero again in next year's "Wonder Woman 1984".
