4 Dec – The reboot trilogy of "Planet of the Apes" wrapped up in 2017 to international acclaim, since then fans have been eagerly awaiting new instalments in the sci-fi media franchise. Good news to fans who are going bananas waiting, there is a new "Planet of the Apes" movie in the making! The news comes from Deadline, who cautioned that it is, however, still very early in development. Wes Ball, best known for helming the "Maze Runner" trilogy that ran from 2014 to 2018, is developing the movie for 20th Century Fox under the studio's new parent company, Disney. The Disney-Fox merging had got fans worried of the franchise's future but it looks like the apes will rise again. It is unclear at the moment whether Ball's new movie will be set in the same universe as Matt Reeves' trilogy and will pick up after the events of "War for the Planet of the Apes", or it will be a completely new remake.
