13 Jun – Knowing that what their fans really, really want is a reunion of all five of them, Spice Girls is all set to deliver – albeit with animated versions of themselves. Paramount Animation's latest release schedule confirms that the girl group's animated movie is in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The animation slate is eyeing two releases a year. Since the 2020 slots are already taken by "The SpongeBob Movie: It's a Wonderful Sponge" (May) and "Rumble" (July), which was previously titled "Monster on a Hill", it's quite likely that the Spice Girls movie will not open next year. It could open in 2021, the likeliest date since the project is still in early development. Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria says that they have been developing an idea that the girl group had and all five members "are very involved".
