14 Aug – There is a horde of Blumhouse Productions horror movies coming to Amazon in a couple of months and among them is a film executive produced by Priyanka Chopra Jonas.

The movie, "Evil Eye", is among the eight titles that make up the Amazon Prime Video anthology "Welcome to the Blumhouse", done in partnership between the eponymous production house and Amazon Studios.

"These chilling stories have something for everyone - ready to fright and delight genre fans and newcomers alike - and we are excited to share them with our global Prime Video customers," said Amazon Studios' co-head of movies, Julie Rapaport, as quoted by Variety.

Four of the films in the anthology will roll out on Amazon starting from this spooky month of October. "The Lie" and "Black Box" will open on 6 October, ahead of "Nocturne" and Chopra Jonas' "Evil Eye" that will both open on 13 October.

"Evil Eye", directed by Elan Dassani and Rajeev Dassani, follows a seemingly perfect romance that turns dark when the mother starts thinking that her daughter's new boyfriend is related to her own past.

Meanwhile, "The Lie", starring Joey King, Peter Sarsgaard and Mireille Enos, is a story of two parents whose teen daughter confesses to killing her best friend.

"Black Box", helmed by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour Jr. from a script by Osei-Kuffour Jr. and Stephen Herman, stars Mamoudou Athie, Phylicia Rashad and Amanda Christine. It tells of a single father who loses his wife and memory in a car accident. He decides to undergo an experimental treatment only to end up questioning who he really is.

"Nocturne", Zu Quirke's feature directorial debut, stars Madison Iseman, Sydney Sweeney, Jacques Colimon and Ivan Shaw. It revolves around a music student at an elite arts academy who finds a mysterious notebook previously owned by a classmate of hers who recently died.

The anthology's remaining four movies are slated to be released in 2021.

This is just one of the projects Chopra Jonas is working on with Amazon after signing a two-year multimillion-dollar first-look television deal with the studio last June. This provides the actress a wider platform in her mission to course-correct the treatment of South Asian actors and crew in Hollywood, while the studio hopes to further expand its reach in India through the partnership.
