26 Mar – As many as 600 to 700 cinemas in China are now re-opening, as the condition in the country improves. But with no new movies releasing at the moment, exhibitors have instead decided to re-release past big titles. "Wolf Warrior 2", "The Wandering Earth" and "Wolf Totem" are among the Chinese movies that will receive re-runs at the cinemas, according to The Hollywood Reporter. These re-opened cinemas are mostly by smaller exhibitors in rural parts of the country. No major cinema operators with nationwide locations have re-opened at the moment. As such, these cinemas will be able to keep 100 percent of the ticket revenue. As a "charity effort" to help the exhibitors regain business, the selected movies' local producers and distributors have agreed to forgo their usual 43 percent cut of sales.
