10 Nov – One of Hollywood's leading men and one of China's biggest stars are teaming up for an action-packed comedy remake of a 2016 Vietnamese pic, "Saigon Bodyguards".

Deadline broke the news that Chris Pratt and Wu Jing will be pairing up in the Hollywood remake, which will reunite them with Joe and Anthony Russo.

The Russos will be producing the new movie through their AGBO production banner with Mike Larocca, alongside Pratt himself under the actor's Indivisible Productions.

There are no details on the plot yet, as Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck are still working on the script, but most likely it will not differ much from the original version helmed by Ken Ochiai ("Ninja the Monster").

The Vietnamese action-comedy follows two professional bodyguards with contrasting personalities, one serious and the other not so much, who must find and rescue a corporate heir who was kidnapped right under their noses.

The original Vietnamese version of "Saigon Bodyguards" was set in the titular city.

As mentioned, this remake will be a reunion between Pratt and Wu with the Russo brothers.

Pratt is well known for his work as Star-Lord in the "Avengers" movies directed by the Russos, who were also consultants on Wu's "Wolf Warriors 2", which is the highest-grossing movie in China with its $877 million box office collection, making it the highest-grossing non-English-language film ever.

There is no production start or release date for the remake yet.

Neither actor will be seen in any movie this year, with the pandemic having postponed most major releases, but Pratt will be returning to the big screen next year in "The Tomorrow War" and in 2022 with "Jurassic World: Dominion".
