3 Dec – Ever since it was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con last year, fans have been anticipating the "Hawkeye" Disney+ series, which will see Jeremy Renner returning as the superhero he's played in MCU movies for nearly a decade. What's more interesting is the fact that the series will also feature the female iteration of the superhero, Kate Bishop, who will take on the Hawkeye mantle from Renner's Clint Barton.

Marvel News' Twitter page shared the images above, along with a couple of videos, that showed Steinfeld filming a scene with Renner. News of the 23-year-old actress' possible involvement in "Hawkeye" first broke in September last year, when Variety reported that she has been offered the lead role in the Disney+ series. There is still no official confirmation from Marvel, but judging by these images, it's safe to say Steinfeld has indeed joined the cast. There are no further details on the plot but reportedly it will be set after the events of "Avengers: Endgame" and will follow Barton as he mentors Bishop to become the next Hawkeye. The series has no confirmed release date at the moment, though it is likely to be released late next year or early 2022 as part of MCU's Phase Four. So far, the MCU Disney+ series will kick off with "WandaVision" next month, followed by "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", "Loki", "What If...?" and "Ms. Marvel", with "Hawkeye" wrapping up the 2021 small screen releases.
