15 Apr – In an effort to raise awareness for cinema staff affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, Lionsgate will be streaming a few of its movies on YouTube for free.

Dubbed "Lionsgate Live! A Night at the Movies", the live stream starts this weekend, 17 April.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the first movie to be screened is the Jennifer Lawrence-starring "The Hunger Games". It will then be followed up by the 1987 romcom "Dirty Dancing", starring Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, on 24 April.

The offerings for next month are the Oscar-winning musical number led by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, "La La Land", which will stream on 1 May, and the Keanu Reeves-starrer, "John Wick", which will be available on 8 May.

Jamie Lee Curtis will be hosting the live stream that will be made available on the respective YouTube pages of Lionsgate and Fandango's Movieclips.

Through the free screenings, Lionsgate, who has teamed up with YouTube, Fandango and the National Association of Theatre Owners for this, is hoping to encourage viewers to donate to the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation.
