5 May – As Singaporeans continue staying safe at home with their loved ones during the circuit breaker period, mm2 Entertainment has come up with a fun way to lift everyone's spirit, that is by launching the "Love Within" video challenge.

The online video challenge, organised in collaboration with AsiaOne and Cathay Cineplexes, invite members of the public to act, direct and create a short story revolving around the unconditional love that families share and what gets them through their struggles during the current pandemic and circuit breaker period.

"We are looking for messages of hope, positivity and love – all the things that the world needs right now," Ng Say Yong, Managing Director of mm2 Entertainment, said in a press statement.

"We know that everyone has a story to share; and since everyone is staying at home it might be a good opportunity to capture that story on video for posterity."

Open to all residents of Singapore, the video challenge runs from today onwards and will close on 5 June 2020.

Videos submitted to the challenge must be shot within the home with only the people residing in that home. It must also be filmed in landscape, minimum HD format and within a duration of three to five minutes.

Wee Li Lin, K. Rajagopal, Sanif Olek and Gavin Lim are among the renowned Singaporean filmmakers who will be judging the entries, which will fall under two categories: Professional category for the media community and Open category for everyone else.

Three winners will be picked from each category and the six winners will receive SGD2,000 cash prize each.

The winning entries will also be converted to digital cinema format and screened to the public at Cathay Cineplexes after the circuit breaker ends.

Not only that, registered participants can also take part in a series of free masterclasses hosted online by the judges, in which they will go through filmmaking basics and share their experiences in storytelling and creating a positive viewing experience.
