4 May – The Henry Golding-starring "Snake Eyes" has yet to open in cinemas but there is already a sequel planned for it.

A new "G.I. Joe" movie is in the works, intended to be a follow up to the Golding-starrer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse are in talks with Paramount and Hasbro to pen the script to the upcoming movie, which is reportedly not a direct sequel but rather a next instalment that is meant to expand the new "G.I. Joe" franchise.

"Snake Eyes", which is so far still slated to be released this October despite current cinema closures, is set to be the first movie in the rebooted franchise and tells the origin story of the titular G.I. Joe member played by Golding.

No word yet on whether the actor will be reprising his role in the follow-up movie.

Directed by Robert Schwentke, "Snake Eyes" also stars Iko Uwais, Andrew Koji, Haruka Abe, Takehiro Hira, Samara Weaving, Úrsula Corberó Steven Allerick and Peter Mensah.
