10 Jun – Four years after "Train to Busan" infected everyone with the (Korean) zombie fever, the action-horror film is getting a theatrical re-release.

Reports from various Hollywood media outlets didn't reveal exactly which country will screen the extended edition, though Bloody Disgusting did state that Well Go USA is distributing it in North America while Screen Anarchy revealed that it will open in various Asian territories.

The release date is set for 1 July 2020. Presumably most cinemas worldwide, which have been forced to go into temporary shutdown since March by the COVID-19 pandemic, will be fully operational by then.

Countries with 4DX theatres will also get to enjoy the movie in the special format, as it will be released simultaneously with the standard format of the extended version.

The new cut of the movie reportedly will reveal clues to the upcoming sequel, "Peninsula".

Yeon Sang-ho returns to direct the sequel, which will feature an all-new cast and a story that differs from its train-centred predecessor. "Peninsula" is aiming for a theatrical release in its home country of South Korea next month.

Fans who are looking forward to watching the extended cut of "Train to Busan" ahead of the new sequel, check out the trailer below to spot what's different.
