"WandaVision" release date gets moved up to this year

It seems like fans will be seeing more of Vision and Wanda's domestic life in their own Disney+ series.

2 Jan – Fans who can't get enough of the romance between the powerful witch Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch and heroic android Vision have this good thing coming to them this year: the debut of the superhero duo's Disney+ series, "WandaVision".

While it was previously expected to be released on the streaming platform in 2021, a new video post on Disney+'s Twitter reveals that it is part of this year's lineup instead.

"Is this not what 2020 vision means? From #ToyStory 4 and Aladdin to #LizzieMcGuire and WandaVision, here's a look into our future at the blockbusters and Originals coming to #DisneyPlus this year," said the caption to the Disney+ 2020 preview trailer.

Not much is known about the series at the known, except that it will star Elizabeth Olsen, reprising her role as Wanda for the sixth time, and Paul Bettany, returning to play Vision for the fourth time.

It might give fans a closer look at the duo's more grounded relationship as the poster for the series put the two in a domestic setup.

Here's a poster for "WandaVision", portraying the titular duo in a domestic setting.

Fellow MCU actors that are joining Olsen and Bettany as part of the series cast are Kat Dennings and Randall Park. The former will be reprising the Darcy Lewis role she played in 2011's "Thor" and 2013's "Thor: The Dark World" while the latter will be returning as his 2018's "Ant-Man and the Wasp" character, FBI agent Jimmy Woo.

In the series, Teyonah Parris ("Dear White People") will be playing the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau, who debuted as a child played by Akira Akbar in last year's "Captain Marvel".

"WandaVision" is currently filming, though no definite release date has been set.
