18 Aug – The upcoming remake of buddy comedy "Planes, Trains & Automobiles" seems promising since it will star two of Hollywood's most successful actors, who both happen to be pretty funny men themselves.

Will Smith and Kevin Hart – the latter sans his usual bickering buddy Dwayne Johnson – are teaming up to star in the Paramount remake, according to Deadline.

The actors' respective production studios, Smith's Westbrook Studios and Hart's Hartbeat Productions, will also be producing the movie.

The original 1987 road trip buddy comedy film was produced, directed and written by John Hughes. No word yet on who's helming the remake but it is known that the script will be written by Aeysha Carr ("Brooklyn 99", "Woke") in her feature debut.

Smith and Hart will be stepping into the shoes of original leads Steve Martin and John Candy, the mismatched duo who find themselves stuck with each other after their flights get cancelled. Despite being complete opposites, they will have to work together to find a way to return to their own families in time for Thanksgiving.

There's no release date set yet for the remake. Before seeing Smith and Hart as a duo, fans will first see them leading separate movies next year, Richard Williams' biopic "King Richard for Smith and drama film "Fatherhood" for Hart.
