As reported on Mingpao, the organiser recently released the list of nominees for the 16 categories, which include 39 films from 11 Asian countries and regions.

Zhou, who was nominated for Best Actress for her performance in Derek Tsang's "Better Days", will be competing with the likes of actresses that include Golden Horse Best Actress winner Yeo Yann Yann ("Wet Season") and Mariko Tsutsui ("Lost Girls & Love Hotels").

This year's AFA will be held in Busan, South Korea. However, no awards ceremony will be held due to the pandemic, with winners to be announced on its official YouTube channel on 14 October.

While the Oscar-winning "Parasite" is leading the awards with ten nominations, Derek's "Better Days", which won big at the Hong Kong Film Awards including Best Actress for Zhou and Best Director for Derek himself, earned five nominations in total.
