18 Jun – It was reported that Akshay Kumar's first-ever series, an action-packed thriller series titled "The End" will likely begin production soon.

As reported on Hindustan Times, the news was confirmed by Abundantia Entertainment's Vikram Malhotra, who stated that his team is working currently with Amazon Prime Video on several series, including the aforementioned title.

"Creators like us look for platforms that becomes homes and understand our sensibilities and creative efforts. We found a warm home in Amazon Prime Video," said the producer. "There's a show called "The End", featuring Akshay Kumar. It is set to start later this year or early next year, depending on how the situation is."

The action-packed thriller project was originally announced in 2019, but had to delay preparation due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was back in March 2019 that the actor and the team from Amazon announced the project, with a blazing and fiery introduction by the actor himself.

In his past announcement about "The End", Kumar stated, "The digital world excited me, and I am delighted to make my streaming debut with this show. And if I were to make a small confession here, it was my son Aarav who suggested that I make my digital debut as that's what the youths are hooked onto. On this medium, I want to create something extraordinary and connect with them."

On the other hand, the actor's upcoming spy thriller movie, "Bell Bottom" will be released on 27 July.
