6 Sep – Angelina Jolie recently admitted that Harvey Weinstein had once been a subject of contention between her and ex-husband Brad Pitt due to her issue with the fallen media mogul.

In an interview with the Guardian to promote her book "Know Your Rights and Claim Them: A Guide for Youth", the actress stated that she had a bad experience working with Weinstein while working on 1998's "Playing By Heart".

Declining to explain more about it, she said, "It was beyond a pass, it was something I had to escape. I stayed away and warned people about him. I remember telling Jonny [Lee Miller], my first husband, who was great about it, to spread the word to other guys - don't let girls go alone with him. I was asked to do "The Aviator", but I said no because he was involved."

Jolie stated that she never associated or worked with Weinstein anymore after that, and was unhappy when Pitt did in 2009 for the Quentin Tarantino movie, "Inglourious Basterds", which was produced by The Weinstein Company.

"We fought about it. Of course it hurt," said Jolie about the fact that Pitt still worked with Weinstein even after she had told him about the incident.

The actress added that she even avoided events for the film where she might bump into Weinstein.

It is noted, however, that Pitt did confront Weinstein, who received a 23-year sentence in New York for two sex crime felony charges, for his behaviour in the past - in defence of his previous girlfriend Gwyneth Paltrow.
