15 Oct – British actress Letitia Wright has recently denied reports that she has expressed anti-vaccination views on the set of "Black Panther 2".

The actress, who plays the role of T'Challa sister and Wakanda Princess Shuri in the movie, released her statement on social media following a report on The Hollywood Reporter that claimed she was making such statements on the set earlier this month.

"It saddens me to have to address the reports published by The Hollywood Reporter on October 6th 2021. The report spoke about my conduct on the set of Black Panther 2. I honestly assert that this was completely untrue," she posted, in an Instagram post where she shared a Bible quote from Isaiah 54:17.

"Anyone who knows me or has worked with me, knows that I work incredibly hard at my craft & my main focus is always to do work that's impactful and inspiring. That has been & will continue to be my only focus. I will continue to hold onto Gods hands, and onto the scripture of Isaiah 54:17. I continue to focus on my healing. Thank you for your prayers," she added.

Prior to the controversy, Wright was hospitalised in late August after suffering a minor injury on set, but returned to filming soon after.

It is noted that this is not the first time the actress has been accused of being anti-vaccine. Back in 2020, she had to temporarily deactivate her social media accounts after sharing an anti-vaccination video.

She also apologised for it, saying that she did not mean to hurt anyone.

"Black Panther 2", aptly named "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", is set for release on July 2022.
