6 Oct – It seems that James Bond could be on his way to accomplish a feat none has done since the pandemic - topping USD 100 million in ticket sales during its opening weekend. The new Bond film, "No Time to Die", which would be Daniel Craig's swansong as 007, has recently surpassed the expected box office number for its international release with an estimated USD 119.1 million over the weekend, and may continue to do so in the coming weeks.
However, sources revealed that "No Time To Die" seems poised to take over "Venom", considering the advanced ticket trend. It is noted that "Skyfall" (2012) previously held the highest-grossing Bond film in history, with USD 88 million in domestic sales and USD 1 billion at the global box office. While the film is more popular among the older generation, it is believed that the fact that this would be Daniel Craig's last Bond film and that many theatres around the world are reopening may play a part in the expected high number. The film was originally scheduled to be released last year, but was postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
