28 Sep – With "No Time To Die" being his farewell to the 007 character, Daniel Craig recently admitted that he did not expect that the said film would be his last project.
"I genuinely thought that I was going to just pack it in [after "Spectre"]," Craig told Reuters. "But I'm so happy that I got the chance to come and do this one. And we tied up lots of loose ends. We've tried to tell one story with all my Bond movies. It's like they're all connected in some way and this one just sort of capped it off." In another interview, Craig shared that he never thought that he would one day play 007, though many believed that his performance in 2004's "Layer Cake" was the catalyst.
"They always want to talk about 'oh, you know 'Layer Cake,' it must have been your audition,' and I was like, 'believe me, it was the last thing on my mind that I was ever going to play James Bond at that point. [But] it definitely changed, shifted things in a way. People saw me in a different way and 'oh, you could be a leading man.' That definitely had an incredibly positive effect on my career." Craig went on to film five James Bond movies, including the 2008's "Quantum of Solace" and 2012's "Skyfall".
