15 Feb –Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently stated that the new Marvel entry, "Black Widow" will be released in cinemas despite several delays due to the pandemic. Despite rumours that the Scarlett Johansson-starrer may be streaming on Disney+ due to the unchanging nature of the current situation, Chapek stated that the film will be receiving a traditional theatrical release in May this year. However, he is not ruling out anything just yet, saying, "I'm going to go back to the word flexibility... We are still intending it to be a theatrical release."
Sources believe that the studio will be announcing whether or not the May release date will be maintained in the next few weeks, seeing that the movie was not presented at this year's Super Bowl and has not released further advertising materials despite Chapek's statement.
