9 Nov – Now that "Dune: Part Two" has been confirmed, it was reported that production will begin filming sometime in 2022.

The movie, which has made USD 330.4 million at the box office and still ongoing, will be filming its sequel on 18 July next year, with the release date scheduled for October 2023.

In a previous interview, director Denis Villenueve revealed that he has already started filming part two even before it was greenlit by Warner Bros.

"I feel like I'm eight years old again. That's very uncommon for me. It's the first time I've experienced it where I'm watching one of my movies, and I have a moment of deep gratitude, of deep joy, and I say, 'Thank you, life, for having allowed me to bring that to the screen.' [laughs] I don't know how other people will feel about it. But me? Denis Villeneuve when he was 14 years old? Thank you," he said.

The first movie, based on Frank Herbert's novel of the same name, stars Timothee Chalamet as the lead Paul Atreides. However, Villenueve revealed a few months ago that the second movie will instead be focused more on Chani, the young Fremen character played by Zendaya - who is also Paul's love interest.

The movie co-stars Oscar Isaac, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Rebecca Ferguson, and Josh Brolin.
