22 Jul – Jason Momoa's rock climbing competition series "The Climb", which is also a brainchild of rock climber Chris Sharma, has recently been green-lighted by HBO Max.

The "Aquaman" star recently shared the good news on social media, writing, "It's official. I am so excited to announce this show that [Chris Sharma] and I will be doing. Mahalo to everyone, beyond excited!"

Jennifer O'Connell, Executive Vice President, Non-Fiction and Live-Action Family Programming, HBO Max expressed, "We are thrilled to be working with Jason Momoa and IPC on this cinematic approach to a physical competition show with Mother Nature providing the most beautiful and challenging of obstacle courses."

The project is also co-developed by renowned rock climber Chris Sharma

Momoa and Chris Sharma are childhood friends

The show is described as a "visually arresting and life-changing adventure that represents the foundations of rock climbing and the exploration of the human spirit. In this all-encompassing competition, amateur climbers are put through a rigorous series of mental and physical challenges, utilizing the most intimidating ascents in the world to crown the world's best amateur climber."

There will be eight episodes in total for the time being.

On the other hand, Momoa is currently in the UK filming the second instalment of his superhero movie, "Aquaman".
