18 Oct – After sharing the first look of its upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman's most popular graphic novel, "The Sandman" last month, Netflix recently posted the highly-anticipated First Look of one of its most popular character, Lucifer.

On 17 October, the streaming services shares two photos of Gwendoline Christie as Lucifer, captioning it, "What power have dreams in hell."

In it, the character can be seen sporting a curly blonde hair, darkened on the sides by the shadows of her dark wings, the words "Never play games with Lucifer" written on the side.

Another photo was also released, showing Lucifer's wings.

The said look resembles the cover of the first issue of "The Sandman" that Lucifer appeared in, as Gaiman puts it.

"A Dave McKean portrait. [Gwendoline Christie] is closer to that look..." he said.

Speaking about the character, showrunner Joe Henderson stated the actress has been amazing on set, despite some fans expressing doubt due to them already being used to seeing Tom Ellis playing the character in the TV series.

"Like, one thing, she's an amazing actress. For another, she'll bring a completely different tone to the character. And the character in Sandman is such a different character, I think casting someone who has just such a different energy... I think it's just awesome. I'm dying to see the first picture of her in character. I could not be happier," he said.

"The Sandman" is expected to premiere on Netflix in 2022.
