13 Sep – After experiencing multiple setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was revealed that "Mission: Impossible 7" has finally wrapped up.

The news was revealed by one Martin Smith, a gaffer on the set of the new movie, who posted a giant clapper on his Instagram account with the words, "Mission complete!"

It is noted that the filming previously had to be postponed several times due to lockdowns and COVID-19 cases, which meant that the eighth movie, which was originally set to be filmed back-to-back, had to be delayed as well to give way to lead actor Tom Cruise to promote his other franchise, "Top Gun: Maverick".

Despite the change of plans, it was reported that "Mission: Impossible 8" is still scheduled to be released 7 July 2023.

On the other hand, the upcoming seventh instalment will also see the return of Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell, Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, Vanessa Kirby as Alanna Mitsopolis, Henry Czerny as Eugene Kittridge, as well as the introduction of a new character played by Hayley Atwell and several others including Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, Indira Varma, and Mark Gatiss.

The upcoming movie is set to be released on 30 September 2022.
