25 Jun – Salma Hayek recently admitted that she could have been a part of "The Matrix" universe if not for the fact that she just couldn't be bothered. The actress, who appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith's Facebook Watch series, "Red Table Talk", revealed that she was actually one of the four finalists to play the character of computer hacker Trinity, aside from Pinkett Smith and Carrie-Anne Moss.
However, Hayek stated that she was inspired seeing how hard Pinkett Smith worked during the process that she decided to work harder when she went to auditions for other action roles. "Every time I'm going to do action, I say, 'No, I better start getting some stamina and practice the routines. You've got to be like Jada!'" she said. It is noted that Pinkett Smith did not get the role eventually (it of course went to Carrie-Anne Moss), but was ultimately given the role of Niobe, a rebel from Zion and Morpheus' former partner. She will also return in the upcoming "The Matrix 4". On the other hand, Hayek's latest movie is the action comedy, "The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard". She also has two upcoming movies, Marvel's "Eternals" and crime drama, "House of Gucci".
