2 Nov – Will Smith recently released a trailer of his upcoming fitness docuseries, "Best Shape of My Life", but what attracted the most attention now is his admission to once contemplating ending himself.
In the trailer that was released on 30 October for the six-part YouTube Originals series, Smith revealed the objective of the said project, which is to document his effort in losing 20 pounds in 20 weeks to get into the best shape of his life - hence, the title.
In one scene where he sat down with the whole family, Smith expressed, "That was the only time in my life that I ever considered suicide."
The context of that particular clip is still unknown, but according to Smith's voiceover, he is about to "show the world how little I know about myself."
"What you've come to understand as Will Smith - the alien-annihilating MC, bigger-than-life movie star - is largely a construction. A carefully crafted and honed character designed to protect myself. To hide myself from the world," he expressed.
The docuseries, produced by both Smith and wife Jada Pinkett Smith, will debut on 8 November, a day before his memoir, "Will by Will Smith" hit the shelves.
